    U.S. Army Spc. Eduardo Silva, a wheeled vehicle mechanic assigned to the 603rd Military Police Company, 109th Military Police Battalion, ground guides a reversing humvee at the maintenance stop of the race event during the Dark Knight competition held at Ādaži Military Base, Latvia, Sept. 10, 2026. Designed to test teams under pressure, the race requires three-Soldier teams to communicate effectively, divide tasks and rely on one another while navigating a series of physical, technical and tactical challenges. V Corps is the U.S. Army's only forward-deployed corps, serving as the senior tactical headquarters for Army forces in Eastern Europe to deter conflict and provide combat-ready forces alongside our NATO Allies. V Corps is operationalizing and expanding the Eastern Flank Deterrence Initiative with Allies, rapidly integrating emerging technologies into training and tactical plans.
