Illinois Army National Guard 2nd Lt. Tianyu Gai renders his first salute as a commissioned officer to Sgt. 1st Class Euler Montoya during the Illinois Army National Guard Officer Candidate School graduation and commissioning ceremony Aug. 16 in Normal. Gai was one of 22 Soldiers to complete the OCS program and one of 18 to commission during the ceremony. Gai, of Chicago, Illinois, branched as an aviation officer.
