Illinois Army National Guard 2nd Lt. Michael Foote renders his first salute as a commissioned officer to U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Robert Bass during the Illinois Army National Guard Officer Candidate School graduation and commissioning ceremony Aug. 16 in Normal. Foote was one of 22 Soldiers to complete the OCS program and one of 18 to commission during the ceremony. Foote, of Wilmington, Illinois, branched as a Military Police officer and is assigned to Headquarters Support Company, 404th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade.
