Illinois Army National Guard 2nd Lt. Alexander Knoppe renders his first salute as a commissioned officer to Spc. Ben Strokosch during the Illinois Army National Guard Officer Candidate School graduation and commissioning ceremony Aug. 16 in Normal. Knoppe was one of 22 Soldiers to complete the OCS program and one of 18 to commission during the ceremony. Knoppe, of Carbondale, Illinois, branched as a Military Police officer and is assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 33rd Military Police Battalion.
