Ava Strok pins second lieutenant rank bars on newly commissioned Illinois Army National Guard (ILARNG) 2nd Lt. Alexander Knoppe during the ILARNG Officer Candidate School graduation and commissioning ceremony Aug. 16 in Normal. Knoppe was one of 22 Soldiers to complete the OCS program and one of 18 to commission during the ceremony. Knoppe, of Carbondale, Illinois, branched as a Military Police officer and is assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 33rd Military Police Battalion.
