Illinois Army National Guard 2nd Lt. Alexis Rodriguez renders his first salute as a commissioned officer to Pfc. Erick Nevarez during the Illinois Army National Guard Officer Candidate School graduation and commissioning ceremony Aug. 16 in Normal. Rodriguez was one of 22 Soldiers to complete the OCS program and one of 18 to commission during the ceremony. Rodriguez, of Plano, Illinois, branched as a signal officer and is assigned to the 406th Signal Company.
