It is common to develop life changing friendships during rotational assignments in the military. The many friendships that have started and flourished on Kwajalein Atoll have been just that if not more for Col. Andrew Morgan, Commander U.S. Army Kwajalein Atoll and Command Sergeant Major Ernest Miller, CSM USAKA, along with their families as they built relationships with coworkers, families, and their Marshallese neighbors on Ebeye and throughout the Kwajalein Atoll, ALL TEAM KWAJ-mates. These lifelong friendships form on both sides, and recently the Kwajalein Atoll Local Government (KALGOV) leaders like Mayor Hirata Kabua and Ebeye community wanted to give the Command Team Families a fond farewell, Marshallese style. At the event held at the Bolkheim Center, Col. Morgan addressed the audience in Marshallese: Na, im bamle in ao, kimij kamolol, bwe kim maron, in kar jerbal im amnak, iturmi, ilo jukjuk in bar in, ilo Kwajalein in. Kim kainoj iakwe, aelon kein, a elap tata, kim lukun iakwe dri Majol. Kom naj bar, ilo tu mulalin buruon bamle in. "My family and I are blessed for this opportunity to have worked and lived alongside you. We love these islands, and we love the Marshallese people. You will be forever in our hearts and thoughts."
