Not to be out done by the Marshallese leadership and landowners of the southern portion of Kwajalein Atoll, the Command Team was invited to join the residents of Enniburr, more commonly known as "Third Island", to celebrate the arrival of the newly appointed command team. The entire village lined the pier as they welcomed the USAG-KA team with songs, waves, and dance. Every hand was shaken with a Iakwe (hello) as the team made their way to the gathering area in the central area of the village.
Once at the main pavilion the team was welcomed by Enniburr Leadership, along with RMI Government leaders, that are from the area. After the formal welcoming, everyone enjoyed a local style meal and performances from villagers as they sang and danced, even bringing out command team members and spouses to join in the fun. As with most areas of the Marshall Islands, we were welcomed into their home with heart felt and warm happiness like we are part of their family.
