The USAG-KA Command Team took a sunrise ferry to Meck to get the lay of the land and tour of facilities on the island. The on the ground site visit gave them a first-hand look at areas of needed improvement and current capabilities. Following the site visit of Meck the team stepped onboard the LCM for a quick trip further north to the environmentally controlled sanctuary of Eniwetok. Eniwetok is home to nesting White Terns, Black Noodys, Purple Land Crabs, who can get a little territorial, and a turtle nesting location. While the team did take in the sites as they made their way under the Jurassic Park canopy high above them, they were there specifically to get eyes on a key communications infrastructure junction.
