Vice Chief of Staff of the Army, General James J. Mingus touched down on U.S. Army Kwajalein Atoll (USAKA) in the Republic of the Marshall Islands to meet with local leadership and tour the facilities. Gen. Mingus, accompanied by Brigadier General Thomas Burke, Chief of Staff U.S. Army Pacific were greeted by Col. Matthew Cannon, Commander of USAKA and U.S. Army Garrison – Kwajalein Atoll, along with USAGKA CSM, Command Sergeant Major Stanley Jackson, Mr. Don Bradshaw, Acting USAG-KA Deputy to the Commander, and other USAKA area directors. Upon receiving the USAKA Command brief, Gen. Mingus and staff were given a tour to receive an up close and personal look at the challenges that U.S. Army Kwajalein Atoll deal with on a day-to-day basis while providing critical range and test capabilities vital for maintaining a credible strategic deterrent.
