Two men are performing a veterinary procedure on a young bovine (calf). One man wearing a blue uniform and white latex gloves is administering what appears to be oral medication or a drench via a tube and syringe into the calf's mouth, while a second man in a beige shirt assists by restraining the animal. A second calf is visible in close proximity in what appears to be a livestock pen or enclosure.

A veterinary assistant administers de-worming medicine to a cow during a Veterinary Civic Action Program, or VETCAP in Daaba, Kenya, Aug. 5, 2012. The VETCAP involved local civilians; the Kenyan military; a local veterinarian; a representative from the international organization Veterinaires Sans Frontieres-Suisse; and civil affairs soldiers from Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa, or CJTF-HOA. CJTF-HOA participates in many VETCAPs across East Africa, aiming to help strengthen the capabilities of community based animal health workers, ensure livestock health, enhance agriculture and economic stability and develop trust and confidence with partner nations.
