A veterinary or livestock health operation is underway in what appears to be a rural African setting. Military personnel in camouflage uniforms are working alongside local civilians to administer injections or treatments to cattle confined in a metal chute/crush. The scene takes place outdoors under sparse acacia-type trees in dry, arid conditions.

U.S. Army civil affairs soldiers help local villagers and veterinary assistants help administer medicine to cows during a Veterinary Civic Action Program, or VETCAP, in Daaba, Kenya, Aug. 5, 2012. The VETCAP involved local civilians; the Kenyan military; a local veterinarian; a representative from the international organization Veterinaires Sans Frontieres-Suisse; and civil affairs soldiers from Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa, or CJTF-HOA. CJTF-HOA participates in many VETCAPs across East Africa, aiming to help strengthen the capabilities of community based animal health workers, ensure livestock health, enhance agriculture and economic stability and develop trust and confidence with partner nations.
