An aerial/elevated view shows a large group of cattle, predominantly black-and-white patterned, densely packed together on sandy ground. Several people, appearing to be herders or handlers, are visible standing around the perimeter of the herd. Some cattle appear to be lying down or restrained, and red markings are visible on several animals, suggesting a livestock management or veterinary activity.

Local villagers herd their cattle into a line to be treated during a Veterinary Civic Action Program, or VETCAP, in Daaba, Kenya, Aug. 5, 2012. The VETCAP involved local civilians, the Kenyan military, a local veterinarian, a representative from the international organization Veterinaires Sans Frontieres-Suisse, and civil affairs soldiers from Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa, or CJTF-HOA. CJTF-HOA participates in many VETCAPs across East Africa, aiming to help strengthen the capabilities of community based animal health workers, ensure livestock health, enhance agriculture and economic stability and develop trust and confidence with partner nations.
