A U.S. Marine Corps MV-22B Osprey aircraft, assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 261, participates in a flyover demonstration along the Delaware River in celebration of the Navy’s 250th birthday in Philadelphia. The Navy and Marine Corps returned to Philadelphia, the birthplace of the sea services, to celebrate 250 years of heritage. The anniversary event highlighted advances in military technology and the commitment of service members, while providing the public the opportunity to visit ships and engage with Sailors and Marines while experiencing the hospitality of the City of Brotherly Love. U.S. Navy and Marine Corps bands will be performing at various locations in Philadelphia, P.A. and Camden, N.J. as part of the Navy and Marine Corps 250th celebration, October 9-16, 2025. The Navy 250th is Oct 13 and Marine Corps 250th is Nov. 10.
Naval Station Great Lakes (NSGL) and Lake County have entered into a new intergovernmental support agreement (IGSA) to help pave the way for one of the largest housing demolition projects in the Navy’s history.
