CAMP HANSEN, Okinawa - On June 26, 1898, a Marine Corps legend was born. Born just before the turn of the 19th century as Lewis Burwell Puller, the man would come to be known by warfighters the world over as Lieutenant General Lewis "Chesty" Puller.
When Marines think of leadership, there is a plethora of ideas that come to mind. Whether it is a small unit leader or a Wing commander, Marines remember those who dedicate themselves to guiding and mentoring with a selfless attitude. U.S. Marine Corps Col. Jeremie N. Hester, the outgoing commanding officer of Marine Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing is one example of the leadership described.
