The Air Force Civil Engineer Center’s Natural Disaster Recovery Division in collaboration with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the 325th Fighter Wing, and Hensel Phelps hosted a Topping-out Ceremony March 13, 2024, to secure the final beam on Hangar 1 at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida. During the ceremony construction workers and base leadership signed the beam signifying it as a historical piece of the Installation of the Future. The ceremonial beam being lifted and secured to Hangar 1 is a milestone in the construction process to show the steel shell is complete and interior work can begin. Hangar 1 construction is expected to be completed in 2025 and will have space for six jets, maintenance, and offices.
