    U.S. Army Spc. Jacob Burgoon, a military police officer assigned to the 603rd Military Police Company, 109th Military Police Battalion, reloads an M17 pistol during the range operations portion of the 603rd Dark Knight competition at Ādaži Military Base, Latvia, Sept. 8, 2026. The M17 is the standard-issue 9mm service pistol used by the U.S. Army, replacing the M9, and is carried by military police officers.
