    U.S. Army Spc. Jagger Moreland, a military police officer assigned to the 603rd Military Police Company, 109th Military Police Battalion, uses an M17 pistol to fire on a paper target during the range operations portion of the 603rd Dark Knight competition at Ādaži Military Base, Latvia, Sept. 8, 2026. The M17 is the standard-issue 9mm service pistol used by the U.S. Army, replacing the M9, and is carried by military police officers. V Corps is the U.S. Army's only forward-deployed corps, serving as the senior tactical headquarters for Army forces in Eastern Europe to deter conflict and provide combat-ready forces alongside our NATO allies.
