    U.S. Army Pfc. Joanna Gonzalez, a military police officer assigned to the 603rd Military Police Company, 109th Military Police Battalion, walks off the range after completing the range drill portion of the 603rd Dark Knight competition held at Ādaži Military Base, Latvia, Sept. 8, 2026. A range lane provided the competitors an opportunity to demonstrate accuracy as well as test their ability to remain composed, apply proper fundamentals and consistently engage targets throughout the course of fire. V Corps is the U.S. Army's only forward-deployed corps, serving as the senior tactical headquarters for Army forces in Eastern Europe to deter conflict and provide combat-ready forces alongside our NATO Allies.
