U.S. service members and Republic of Korea Air Force personnel executed combined flying training exercise Freedom Flag 25-1 at Gwangju Air Base, Republic of Korea April 21-May 2. The was designed to enhance the combined readiness and interoperability of U.S. and ROK forces, strengthening the alliance and contributing to regional stability. It also includes U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Navy and U.S. Army participation.
Seventh Air Force is set to extend its “Super Squadron” test for a second phase in October 2025 after recently receiving approval by the Chief of Staff of the Air Force. The test examines Seventh Air Force’s ability to increase combat force generation and maximize capability by consolidating aircraft and personnel in a large Super Squadron.

U.S. Air Force Airmen from the 51st Fighter Wing, Osan AB, ROK, and the 18th Wing, Kadena AB, Japan, along with Republic of Korea Air Force personnel, will conduct Combined Search and Rescue Training Event 25-2, at Osan AB, April 7-18.
The field training exercise will focus on enhancing joint CSAR capabilities and interoperability between U.S and ROK personnel recovery forces across the region.
