    Sgt. Schermerhorn’s poster features a study investigating specific gene changes that occur in traumatic brain injury (TBI) and blast over pressure models to identify indicators associated with mild versus moderate TBI and/or blast over pressure exposures. The study crucially detected an important change in one microRNA (miR-let-7i) which robustly responds to TBI, TBI severity, and was detectable for at least 7 days post-TBI.
