Sgt. Ayana Ferrer (right, Walter Reed Army Institute of Research) presents a research poster to Brig. Gen. Constance L. Jenkins (left), Commanding General of U.S. Army Medical Research and Development Command, at Military Health System Research Symposium 2026. Photo courtesy of MRDC HQ Public Affairs.
Sgt. Ferrer’s poster features a study that measured the protein indicators of traumatic brain injury (TBI) in animal models to determine the connection between serum availability for TBI diagnosis and TBI type and severity over time. The study’s findings provide critical insights for future studies of TBI in pre-clinical and clinical therapeutic trials.
