Dr. Joseph Dwyer (The Geneva Foundation in support of the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research) presents a research poster at Military Health System Research Symposium 2026. Photo courtesy of MRDC HQ Public Affairs.
Dr. Dwyer’s poster features a study that investigates how useful commercially available iontophoretic patches, which are needle-free and single-use patches that push medication through the skin, for the purpose of treating traumatic brain injuries in austere conditions. The study shows that the patches have significant limitations for use, but that they are effective under specific circumstances.
