Mr. Lawrence’s poster features a study to create a new tool for the prediction of sepsis in burn patients, which is a challenge that increases the risk of mortality. By using a proprietary artificial intelligence (A.I.) to test for indicators of sepsis on the genetic level, the research team was able to develop SeptiBurnAlert, which can predict sepsis with >80% sensitivity and specificity within 2 hours of blood collection.
