SAN DIEGO (Aug. 19, 2025) — Lt. Cmdr. Stephen Moreno, oral maxillofacial residency program assistant director, works with Cmdr. Samuel Frasier, department chair of the ear, nose, and throat program, during the microvascular phase of a jaw-in-a-day reconstruction at Naval Medical Center San Diego, where surgeons with the Maxillofacial Restoration Program reconnect the blood vessels of a transplanted fibula graft to restore circulation and ensure the new jaw segment’s viability.
