A crane sits on top of the loading deck of the Moose Creek Dam on Dec. 7 at the Chena River Lakes Flood Control Project in North Pole, Alaska. The crane removes trees, logs and other debris from the impounded water when the dam operates for high water events to prevent damage to the control works. During the winter, the crane remains in place to be ready for potential flood events in the spring. (U.S. Army Photo by Rachel Napolitan)
