USS MAKIN ISLAND, Pacific Ocean (October 31, 2016) – Marines with Supporting Arms Liaison Team C, 1st Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, maintain communications with AV-8B Harriers during a close-air support simulation aboard the USS Makin Island (LHD 8), while afloat in the Pacific Ocean, October 31, 2016. The SIMCAS served as refresher training for the Marines of ANGLICO, allowing them to coordinate notional close-air support with AV-8Bs from Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 163 (Reinforced), 11th MEU.
