MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. -- Cmdr. Nick Hamilton, command chaplain at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, addresses staff and guests during a ceremony celebrating the U.S. Navy Chaplain Corps’ 241st birthday. The Chaplain Corps was established November 28, 1775 making it the oldest corps in the Navy. There are currently 816 active chaplains in the U.S. Navy providing advice, counseling, and religious services to sailors, Marines and their families around the world.
