PACIFIC OCEAN (Oct. 30, 2016) Capt. Bryan McDonald, the joint terminal attack controller and Firepower Control Team 6 leader for Supporting Arms Liaison Team C, 1st Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, establishes communications with an AV-8B Harrier Aircraft, during a close-air support simulation conducted on and around the USS Makin Island (LHD 8). One of ANGLICO’s missions while operating on the ground in a battle space is to communicate and coordinate with air or naval gunfire assets, as well as provide them with situational updates of target sites during their bombardment.
