USS MAKIN ISLAND, Pacific Ocean (October 31, 2016) – Capt. Bryan McDonald, the Joint Terminal Attack Controller and Firepower Control Team 6 leader for Supporting Arms Liaison Team C, 1st Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, coordinates notional air support with AV-8B Harriers during a simulated close-air support exercise conducted aboard the USS Makin Island (LHD 8) while afloat in the Pacific Ocean, October 31, 2016. The mission of the FCT leader, who is a certified JTAC, is to assume control of and direct the other Marines in the FCT, which consists of a Joint Forward Observer, and two radio operators.
