Brig. Gen. Michael Liesmann assumed responsibility as the deputy to the commanding general (DCG) of the U.S. Army Intelligence Center of Excellence (USAICoE) at Fort Huachuca, Arizona, Nov. 18, 2024.
The role of this new position is critical for USAICoE. The DCG will drive forward the Army’s intelligence modernization efforts and directly support the commanding general in achieving USAICoE’s mission.
As the DCG, a key responsibility is to deliver intelligence support aligned with the Army’s 2030 objectives, to ensure our intelligence capabilities meet the demands of an evolving battlefield. On Dec. 14, 1776, General George Washington sent a letter to his brigade commanders stationed along the Delaware River. Washington gave general instructions for the river’s defense. Moreover, he expressed the intelligence of the enemy and terrain required to prepare for his next move against the British.
On Dec. 22, 1776, Col. Joseph Reed urged his commander, General George Washington, to make an attack on Trenton, New Jersey.
