Members from the 109th Airlift Squadron and 133rd Maintenance Group conduct a large formation flight with C-130H Hercules in St. Paul, Minnesota, on Aug. 18, 2026. The Airmen are participating in a large formation flight that showcases the aircrew’s ability to plan, lead, and execute Joint Forcible Entries and large-scale ingress resulting in training for approximately 40 aircrew and 36 maintainers.

U.S. Air Force Chief Warrant Officer 2 Michael Volkmeier is beginning a new legacy in technical leadership as the first Air Force warrant officer in the Minnesota National Guard in more than three decades. This role is especially unique to Volkmeier and the Minnesota National Guard, as he is the first Air Force warrant officer to serve in Minnesota since the program disbanded in 1992.
