DAVIS-MONTHAN AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. – Airmen assigned to the 355th Wing participated in the Advanced Ready Training-Core (ART-C) course at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona, Aug. 3-7, 2026. The course provided hands-on training designed to strengthen deployment readiness and prepare Airmen for the challenges they may encounter in contested environments.
On Aug. 10, Airmen from the 355th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, assigned to the 355th Wing but geographically located at Nellis Air Force Base, and the 88th Test and Evaluation Squadron rapidly generated and deployed two HH-60W Jolly Green II helicopters to rescue five U.S. Navy personnel following an aircraft mishap near Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake, California.
The 355th Wing has expanded its First Term Enlisted Course into a three-week curriculum designed to better prepare new Airmen for the demands of military service while advancing the wing's priority of building combat-credible Airmen.
U.S. Air Force Maj. William "Raz" Berryhill, a pilot assigned to the 79th Rescue Squadron, and his wife, Maj. Coleen “Check” Berryhill, assigned to the 357th Fighter Squadron, reached a rare milestone July 28, 2026 as they flew their final flights, known as “fini-flights”, together, closing out their assignment at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base.
