DAVIS-MONTHAN AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. – Unauthorized drone operations on or around the installation are prohibited unless specifically authorized by the installation commander.
As an active military installation, Davis-Monthan AFB maintains restrictions on unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) to protect personnel, aircraft, and installation security. Individuals should not assume that recreational or commercial drone operations are permitted near the base.
Unauthorized drones may be disabled, damaged, destroyed, seized, or confiscated. Operators may face criminal prosecution, fines may exceed $100,000, imprisonment for up to 20 years and permanent confiscation of their aircraft.
Drone operators should also understand that FAA airspace authorization does not grant permission to take off, land or operate from military property. Airspace authorization and installation access are separate requirements.
Before flying, know the rules. All drone operators are responsible for complying with FAA regulations, federal law, and local restrictions.
