U.S. military and Icelandic medical, search and rescue, and emergency response personnel gather to evaluate performance/execution during a mass medical emergency response practice as part of exercise Northern Viking 26 at Keflavík Air Base, Iceland, Aug. 30, 2026. Participants included U.S. Air Force pararescuemen assigned to the 38th Rescue Squadron, Icelandic Coast Guard personnel, the Suðurnes Rescue Team, U.S. Navy Sailors assigned to Expeditionary Resuscitative Surgical System team 9 and Icelandic medical teams.
