Icelandic Suðurnes Rescue Team personnel mark a landing zone with a signal flare during a simulated mass casualty scenario as part of exercise Northern Viking 26 at Keflavík Air Base, Iceland, Aug. 30, 2026. NV26 brought Icelandic first responders together with U.S. Air Force pararescuemen assigned to the 38th Rescue Squadron, Moody Air Force Base, Georgia, to rehearse coordinated casualty recovery and emergency response procedures.
