FUJINOMIYA, Japan (Aug. 4, 2026) – Hikers arrive back at Mount Fuji’s 5th Station after completing their descent from the summit during a Commander Fleet Activities Yokosuka (CFAY) Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Outdoor Recreation overnight trip, Aug. 4, 2026. The two-day excursion gave base personnel and family members the opportunity to experience one of Japan’s most iconic cultural and athletic challenges. CFAY provides, maintains, and operates base facilities and services in support of the U.S. 7th Fleet's forward-deployed naval forces, 71 tenant commands, and more than 27,000 military and civilian personnel and their families.
