FUJINOMIYA, Japan (Aug. 3, 2026) –Hikers pose for a photo upon reaching Fujisan Hotel at Mount Fuji's 8th Station during an Commander Fleet Activities Yokosuka (CFAY) Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Outdoor Recreation overnight climb, Aug. 3, 2026. Located over 10,000 feet above sea level, the mountain hut serves as a rest stop and dinner location for climbers preparing for an early morning summit bid. CFAY provides, maintains, and operates base facilities and services in support of the U.S. 7th Fleet's forward-deployed naval forces, 71 tenant commands, and more than 27,000 military and civilian personnel and their families.
