SCHOFIELD BARRACKS, Hawaii – A contractor assigned to Army Field Support Battalion-Hawaii reviews documentation as U.S. Army Pacific Soldiers prepare to turn in Toughbook laptops at the Modernization, Displacement, and Repair Site (MDRS), Jan. 16, 2025. Operated by the 402nd Army Field Support Brigade, the MDRS facilitates Rapid Removal of Excess (R2E) and supports the 25th Infantry Division’s “Lightning Purge” initiative—accelerating equipment divestiture and enabling modernization across the Indo-Pacific.
