Cpl. Anthony McDaniel, from Pascagoula, Miss., will compete in the 2012 Warrior Games in Colorado Springs, Colo., April 30-May 5. McDaniel, 26, will compete in track and field and wheelchair basketball.
McDaniel is a combat wounded bilateral amputee and partial hand amputee. His injuries are a result of an improvised explosive device blast in Afghanistan in August 2010. He's currently recovering at Naval Medical Center San Diego. More than 200 wounded, ill or injured service members from the Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and Special Operations Command are scheduled to compete in the Paralympic-style competition.
