Marine veteran Brian M. McPherson from Nashport, Ohio, will compete in the 2012 Warrior Games in Colorado Springs, Colo., April 30-May 5. McPherson, 25, will compete in track and field and cycling. McPherson was injured in an explosion in Iraq in 2008. He suffered a bilateral shoulder injury, traumatic brain injury, post traumatic stress and hearing loss. He says the games have helped him overcome new obstacles in his life and he has focused his energy in training and not the bad things that have happened in his life. More than 200 wounded, ill or injured service members from the Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and Special Operations Command are scheduled to compete in the Paralympic-style competition.
