NATO’s ability to counter emerging drone threats depends not only on having access to the latest technology, but also on the ability to test, integrate and use it in real-life conditions. That is why in Romania Allied troops have been practising counter-drone techniques. The training was linked to a series of exercises focused on strengthening capabilities to counter uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS).
Exercise Eastern Phoenix was organised by the Romanian Ministry of National Defence and NATO Allied Command Transformation (ACT), bringing together around 500 military and industry personnel from 21 Allied countries.
