Several Soldiers from 2nd Battalion, 398th Cavalry Regiment participated in what became the U.S. Army Reserve's last spur ride Aug. 27-29, 2026. After three days of testing, nine of them earned their spurs in a ceremony at Fort Knox that concluded with the casing of the unit's colors. The unit now falls under 100th Training Division.
The monthly Fort Knox retirement ceremony will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28 in Waybur Theater and hosted by Col. Franyate Taylor, 1st Theater Sustainment Command chief of staff, and co-hosted by Command Sgt. Maj. Adam Lepley, the command’s senior enlisted advisor.
Members of the public are invited to attend.
