DOVER AIR FORCE BASE, Del. – Ten Airmen from three bases across Air Force Reserve Command are receiving consolidated training for their upcoming deployment to Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operations. The week-long Force Support Contingency Training-Mortuary Course provides real-world mortuary training and introduces the Airmen to the sections and responsibilities they will fill during their deployment.
Matt Metschke, Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operations Case Management Branch chief, oversees case assignments, is the service liaison for the Air Force when a case is to be sent to the Armed Forces Medical Examiner System and supervises three case managers that are assigned to different regions of the United States.

DOVER AIR FORCE BASE, Del. – Friends and colleagues are remembering the life and legacy of Murray E. Horton Jr., known as “Buddy” throughout his decades of service in the mortuary affairs field. Horton, the former director of Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operations Operating Location-Europe, passed away last month at the age of 76.
