U.S. Air Force Airmen assigned to the 147th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Texas Air National Guard, conduct basic preflight and postflight inspections on an MQ-9 Reaper aircraft inside an aircraft shelter at Keflavík Air Base, Iceland, during exercise Northern Viking 26, Aug. 28, 2026. The aircraft supported a search and rescue training mission integrating MQ-9 Reapers with a U.S. Navy P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft and an Icelandic Coast Guard Airbus H225 Super Puma. These inspections help sustain aircraft readiness while U.S. and Allied forces practice operating together during natural emergencies and other contingencies in the High North.
