A U.S. Navy P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft assigned to VP-62, at Keflavik Air Base, taxis during a search and rescue training mission as part of exercise Northern Viking 26 at Keflavík AB, Iceland, Aug. 28, 2026. The mission integrates the P-8A with MQ-9 Reapers assigned to the 147th Attack Wing, Texas Air National Guard, and an Icelandic Coast Guard Airbus H225 Super Puma to rehearse coordinated SAR operations. NV26 strengthens U.S. and Allied interoperability and readiness by providing opportunities to train together for a variety of missions, including natural emergencies and SAR.
