U.S. Air Force Airmen assigned to the 147th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Texas Air National Guard, guide an MQ-9 Reaper aircraft into an hardened shelter at Keflavík Air Base, Iceland, during exercise Northern Viking 26, Aug. 28, 2026. Airmen conduct basic preflight and postflight inspections on the aircraft in support of a SAR training mission involving a U.S. Navy P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft and an Icelandic Coast Guard Airbus H225 Super Puma. Ground operations and aircraft sustainment help maintain the readiness required to conduct coordinated SAR operations in the Arctic and North Atlantic.
