U.S. Air Force Airmen assigned to the 147th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Texas Air National Guard, conduct preflight and postflight inspections on an MQ-9 Reaper aircraft at Keflavík Air Base, Iceland, in support of a search and rescue training mission during exercise Northern Viking 26, Aug. 28, 2026. The mission integrates MQ-9 Reapers with a U.S. Navy P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft and an Icelandic Coast Guard Airbus H225 Super Puma to rehearse coordinated SAR operations. Ground operations and aircraft sustainment help maintain the readiness required for U.S. and Allied forces to respond together during real-world emergencies in the Arctic and North Atlantic.
