Kajko, explosive ordnance disposal technician, Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency 26-3LA recovery team 2, excavates a tree during a recovery operation in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, March 13, 2026. Soil from excavation units is transferred to screening stations where U.S. personnel and Lao citizens search for aircraft parts, life support material and possible remains.
