Dr. Larkin Kennedy, scientific recovery expert, Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency, passes buckets during a recovery mission in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, March 9, 2026. Soil from excavated units are transferred to screening stations where U.S. personnel and local workers search for aircraft wreckage, life support material and possible remains.
